Tat Tat Tatted Up

So a few days ago I was in Detroit with my family having an early family Christmas because my cousin is going back to Germany and then to Afghanistan. This also happened to be the date that my grandpa died a year ago. My mom wanted to get my grandpas initials on her wrist in memory of him. Sooo I got to thinking, "how many people can say that they got a tattoo with their mom?" and I came to the conclusion... Not many. So I decided to get one. It's around 12:00 and we walk in to the tattoo parlor and I'm kinda freaking out... I would have chickened out but I had already put down a down payment so there was no going back. My mom sat down in the chair first after asking a TON of questions. The tattoo was done in about 5 min. and now it was my turn. I asked her how it felt and she said that it didn't hurt at all and that it actually kind of felt good. So I had it in my head that it wasn't going to hurt... well I was wrong... it hurt like hell. But I like it.

The first order of shirts should be here on Tuesday! I'm so excited. Also, the website will drop around then, as well as the manual for the student representatives. I am writing it by hand so I have been writing that for a while. I always seem to mess up the last sentence on a page, so I have to rewrite the page... sooo annoying.

We have finals this week for school. But I am a P.E. major... so I have one... and it should be really easy. It's funny because all of my friends are all studying REALLY hard and I am just sitting in my room chilling and listening to music. I keep asking them if they want to go out and find a party, but for some reason they just get kind of mad and leave. haha. PE major 4 LIFE!!

My dad just gave me a book called "Have a Little Faith" by Mitch Albom. He said it was amazing so he gave it to me 2 read. I hope to start that soon, lord knows I will have time. Hmmm... anything else new in my life? Well I broke my record player which sucks. The needle broke. So know I just have a bunch of records that I can't listen to.

I think that is about all I have to say. It was a random post but I just needed to say that I got a tattoo.

Long Time No See

So I am trying this out on my phone for the first time so forgive me if I spell every other word wrong. I haven't been on here for a while mainly because my computer blows. It doesn't work. Anyways, football season just came to an end last week. It was a great year. Since then, my cousin - who is in the air force - flew in from Germany and we basically have been partying non stop. It was fun though. Also we have been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II - it is so sweet. I am bad at it right now but I will soon be the best haha. We just had thanksgiving a few days ago and I am still full. I think my favorite thanksgiving food is mashed potatoes. So damn good. Oh and I also went to the Lions game with my brother and 2 cousins. And tailgating was fun but the game kinda blew. Another thanksgiving tradition is our annual "turkey bowl" that we have at my house with my sister and all of the neighbor kids. It was raining this year so it got pretty intense. It's just a two hand touch football game with kids. It's really fun. Especially when my team wins. My brother and I are very competitive. I think last year there was an argument in the house after the game. hahaha. I'm so frickin excited for Christmas. I have no clue what I want but I am most excited about getting this first order of shirts out. I just received the samples and I took some pictures of myself with them on. I will add them to this blog. Oh, I also want to add to this one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. It is a picture of a receipt for $1.90. My card with all of my money was declined. It sucked haha. So my brother had to pay for me. Right after I finish this post I am going to place the first order. I am so excited! This has been a long time coming and I'm so glad that it is finally here. After that I need to sleep. Which is weird because I just was on thanksgiving break. To many parties?

This is Crazy!

So within the last day or so I have sold way over what I had expected for the first order! I don't even have samples to show people! I am so happy that people like the idea. I seriously think that we are going to change the world. I am working with Jack Pearl of Battle Creek Michigan and they have been nothing but amazing. I am expected to get samples in next week. I am so excited. I haven't written on here for a while - mainly because I didn't have much to write about - but within these last couple of days my lazy days have turned into crazy days and sleepless nights. :) I seriously can hardly sleep because I am so excited. I hope that one day soon a ton of people will share the same problem :).

So besides Be A Number I have not been up to much. We just recently had a dog. It was a Boxer. Wow. So we got this dog when it was 3 - so it wasn't a puppy or anything. His name was Lenny and he loved to eat, poop everywhere, sleep and tear the house up. Now, for the first week or so this was OK because me and my housemates were convinced that we could break his bad habits. He was getting better... and then he went crazy lol. He actually had separation anxiety so whenever we would leave to go to football he would freak out. So after a while we just couldn't handle him so we found him a good home where someone will always be with him. BUT before he left he left us a few parting gifts haha. My friend was actually home at the time - but he was upstairs. I leave for about 15 min. and I come back and find the biggest duce I have ever seen on the floor - and actually one of my other friends had come home and stepped in it! I have NO clue how he first could not smell it when he first walked in. I was actually hit with a wave of poop smell when I walked in. OK so besides the poop he grabbed a remote from a table and chewed it in half haha. Then after that he decided to get on the counter and eat a box of boneless chicken wings. He still wasn't done - he grabbed my mullet wig from Halloween the night before and practically ate it haha - there was hair everywhere! So yeah that was sweet.

I am so excited for Christmas! Happy Holidays!

BOO!

I'm not sure if I have mentioned this in previous posts, but I also play football for the Hillsdale College. In my football career I have been apart of some pretty amazing games... But none like the one that we just played. We were playing Grand Valley State University. At the time they were ranked #1 in DII and we were not even in the top 25. It was our homecoming game so the pressure was definitely on us to win. At half time we were winning by 2 points. In the 4th quarter they end up taking a lead of 24 - 20 with about 5 min. left in the game. We drive down and score with 36 sec. left on the clock. People are freaking out at this point. Grand Valley gets the ball back and ends up driving down to our 39 yard line and attempt a 49 yard field goal with 3 sec. left. The clock expires as the field goal sails wide right and everyone goes crazy... We run on the field to celebrate with our teammates and our stands begin to clear out. So many people were in the middle of the field just jumping and cheering. It was amazing. Below is a short video of the student section beginning to clear out.

Just a side note -- Yesterday I went out and bought the movie Jeepers Creepers but have not mustered up the courage to watch it yet. I remember watching it at a friends house when it first came out and I remember freaking out. So instead of watching that I decided to watch the OLD House on Haunted Hill. It's still good just in case you were wondering. I remember watching that as a kid on Halloween as I was counting/sorting out all of my candy. lol. I wonder if there is such a thing where you can spend the night in a hunted house like in the
movie... not like a bed and breakfast (although they can be freaky) but and actual house with some friends. I would do it... I think...I'm definitely in the Halloween spirit right now. I think tonight I am going to see Halloween II (the Rob Zombie one) with a couple of friends. I've heard it's pretty messed up soooo I might just be the guy who offers to refill everybody's popcorn and drinks the whole time.

Worst Day Ever.

OK so I mentioned earlier how I play a lot of video games... MY TV BROKE!!! NOOOO!!! haha... it is pretty funny actually. So the last couple of days my housemates and I kept talking about this weird smell and we couldn't figure out what it was. My friend thought it was our snake that we have at our house (more on that later). My vote was for black mold and that were all about to fall over and die... but it was even worse. It was the TV!! :( what am I going to do?! It has been about 6 hours and I have the shakes from not playing video games lol. OK and about the snake that we have. Her name is Jake. She is not mine. She hates me and if/when she escapes I'm out of this house so fast. It smells my fear.

Besides my TV breaking there really hasn't been anything to crazy happen here in the last few days. I'm basically trying to procrastinate from studying. Oh! OK, so I have always had really vivid dreams and I always remember them, but more recently I will wake up in the middle of the night and text myself something that I think is really important from my dream... weird I know... but anyways, I was dreaming that I was in some odd restaurant and my order number came up. I woke up and texted myself my order number. It was 187693. The other day I was talking to my friend and we were saying how we should play the lotto... Sooo I figured that this was a sign from God to play these numbers in the lotto. I just bought my first lotto ticket and I hope that I win lol.

OK now about Be A Number. The website is FINALLY being set up. I'm so happy! Also I redid the logo and I like it more. The new logo is on the side (hopefully) of this blog. I hope you like it.

Random Night and About Me

It is feeling more and more like fall here at Hillsdale College. I didn't really realize how creepy this house is until the other night. I think 2 nights ago my friend was falling asleep and he thought that he heard someone open the hatch to the old Michigan basement and go down it. Yes... a hatch... how freaky is that... it doesn't stop there though. So basically he freaked out and ran into the living room saying that he thinks that someone is living in our basement (I had never been in it). So everyone gathers up weapons and flashlights in an attempt to see what is down there. It ends up absolutely nothing was down there, but what I did learn is that our basement looks a lot like the basement from "A Haunting in Connecticut"... so that sucks. lol. I'm really excited for Halloween but I don't know what I want to be yet. I'm thinking that me and a few friends should be treasure trolls. Last year my date and I were raisins. Yeah, it was sweet. OK now down to business. As far as Be A Number goes I have been working with a friend of Tyler's in order to get all of the kinks worked out and am working on filling out what I need to fill out for the state of Michigan in order to be an LLC. That is really it actually. I am just waiting to get some shirt samples and see the website. I'm excited.

Oh! I forgot to tell you anything about myself in the first blog. So here it is. My name is Kevin Hershock and I was born in Redford, MI. and then moved to Marshall, MI. I go to Hillsdale College and play football. I have a really close family - My mom - Gail. My Dad - Kevin (no I'm not a jr. because my middle name is different). My Brother - Kory (19). My sister Abbie (10). Abbie is the one in the picture with me and she is my biggest fan. I like pretty much what any regular college student likes and I play a lot of video games and watch a lot of movies lol. My favorite video games are Halo 3, Call of Duty, and NHL 2010. My favorite movies are A Night at the Roxbury, Zoolander, National Treasure, and Elf. Haha OK that was all really random but I want to get to know you guys to. So if you have bought a shirt I want to know your number and some stuff about you.

First Blog

Ok so I never done this before but it seems like everyone in the world is doing it. This blog is to basically keep track of a business that I am starting called Be A Number. I am so excited. I literally just got off of the phone with Every Child Ministries. They were so nice. I talked with them for a while about Be A Number and the things that I want to do with it and they were so supportive and very excited to help. I am so glad that I will be partnering with them in order to give these children the things that they need. As soon as I hung up the phone I had to call everyone that I could haha. I called my mom and dad as well as a few friends. I am so glad that this idea is finally getting off of the ground. I'm meeting with my new friend Tyler Sharette tonight to talk about the logo, website as well as the facebook page that I hope to get up soon. I just came up with another design for the shirts. Gosh, I am so excited. Right now... things could not be better. I am buzzing from my coffee, writing my first blog, and listening to Owl City - my favorite band. Maybe if I can figure out how to get picture on here I will post some of my rough sketches. I hope and pray that Be A Number can be at the least a flicker of light for the children who's lives have been filled with constant darkness.
